This winter transfer window proves to be a time of intense speculation and potential major moves. Numerous notable players find themselves connected to transfers out of their current teams. We examine a selection of the top names that are poised to be on the move this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to qualify for the AFCON, this has left the forward available, it appears an important move is close. The 25-year-old has a deal featuring a sizeable release clause applicable for a two-week period at the start of the month. Recent reports indicate Manchester City are now the frontrunners for his services. Former suitors like Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have moved on to alternative options, potentially opening the door for clubs like Liverpool or Manchester United to make a late bid.

M. Guéhi

The England defender has continued to impress for Crystal Palace despite a previous move to Anfield collapsing. With his contract due to run out in the close season, this represents the club's last opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their skipper. A host of elite sides, such as Manchester City and multiple continental powerhouses including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, reportedly be interested. However, a January departure remains difficult, particularly given the coach's reliance on the player.

B. Johnson

This Wales winger has found first-team minutes limited at Spurs this term. Despite finishing as the club's leading goalscorer last season, he has begun just a small number of Premier League matches. Reports suggest the London club is willing to consider a transfer for the right price, thought to be in the around forty million pounds. Bournemouth are currently leading the chase, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also showing an interest.

R. Neves

This Portuguese playmaker might be set for a return to the Premier League following a spell in the Saudi Pro League. Now just 28, and with his contract ending in the summer of 2026, he is a potential bargain. Clubs such as Manchester United and Liverpool are linked with the former Wolves man. Additionally, there are rumours from Spain that he would be willing to accept a pay cut for a move to the Spanish giants.

M. ter Stegen

The experienced Germany shot-stopper finds himself as third-choice at Barcelona following the coach Flick. Having fallen out of favour and had surgery, a winter exit seems increasingly likely. Villa were once linked as a potential destination, but that move currently seems off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly showing curiosity in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

The prolific England centre-forward has continued scoring frequently in the Middle East. Coming back to the Premier League might enhance his dwindling chances of making the England World Cup. The much-admired Dutch midfielder has drawn parallels to a Belgian superstar for his style of play. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has broken into the AZ side. This 19-year-old is widely expected to make a major move in January. Newcastle are believed to be frontrunners, but could face stiff rivalry from Real Madrid for a deal priced at around £22 million.
